Types of Breast Augmentation Incisions
Your surgeon will use a small incision to place the implant. There are many different types of incisions which are used in breast augmentation:
- Incision in the fold underneath the breast (inframammary augmentation)
- Incision on lower half of the areola (periareolar augmentation)
- Incision in the armpit (axillary augmentation)
- Incision in the belly button (umbilical augmentation)
To make the scars as inconspicuous as possible, Dr. Williams typically utilizes either inframammary incisions or periareaolar incisions.
Breast Augmentation Procedure
The procedure typically takes 2 to 3 hours. During this process, Dr. Williams’ goal is to achieve a natural and attractive look. Typically, breast augmentation is performed as an outpatient procedure which means you go home after the surgery.
