Neograft® Hair Restoration and Transplant in Women in Durango, CO
For hairline and eyebrows
TThinning and loss of hair in women is often caused by multiple factors (multi-factorial). Factors that contribute to thinning are genetic predisposition, vitamin deficiencies, metabolic and hormonal factors. Due to its mulit-factorial etiology, it is important to be evaluated by a qualified surgeon to determine what treatment or treatments are best suited for you. Peak Rejuvenation offers the full spectrum of treatment for thinning or loss of hair including HairMedica® products, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections, and NeoGraft® Hair Transplantation. Approximately 15% of women are candidates for hair transplantation.
What is FUE and FUT and how does it differ from Strip Method?
The original hair transplantation techniques utilized a harvesting method whereby the surgeon would make a large incision on the back of the scalp, harvest skin, separate it on the backtable, then transfer the follicular units to the recipient sites. The donor site is closed with sutures or skin staples. This technique is still used by some surgeons today, but it leaves a large scar on the back of the scalp.
Dr. Williams utilizes the newer technique of Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) and Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT). FUE and FUT is the technique by which the surgeon and technician use specialized equipment to remove each individual follicular unit from the donor site and transplant it to the recipient site. Using this technique, donor follicles can be harvested with virtually no scar…instead, the technique leaves behind thousands of small inconspicuous 1 mm scars.
What is Involved in NeoGraft® Hair Transplantation in Pagosa Springs, CO?
Dr. Williams uses the NeoGraft® system to perform the hair transplantation and the procedure is most commonly performed under local anesthesia in the office. The NeoGraft® system can also be used for ‘scar camouflage’ procedures for patients who have had prior linear ‘Strip Method’ harvests, as well as for body hair transplants.
Who is a Good Candidate for Hair Transplantation?
Candidates for hair restoration surgery are those individuals in good health with moderate hair loss and sufficient donor hair on the back of the scalp to transplant into the balding areas. Those with more donor hair, greater hair density and fullness can typically expect fuller results. It is also important that you have reasonable cosmetic goals. Hair transplantation can achieve very good, natural results but cannot restore your hair to the density you had as a teenager. Your surgeon will assess the amount of coverage needed to give you the appearance you desire.
Inconspicuous Scarring and No Scalpel
NeoGraft® uses controlled pneumatic pressure to slide out the graft smoothly, so there is no pulling or twisting that can risk damaging the graft. Your grafts can be re-implanted sooner, keeping them more robust and resulting in a natural looking hairline. Hair restoration methods that use scalpels and leave scars can be dangerous and painful. Our procedure is safe, painless and leaves only tiny 1mm scars.
Will I Keep My Transplanted Hairs?
The science behind grafting is simple. Hair follicles are taken from the hair in the back of the head that naturally continues to grow. The follicles that hold your transplanted hair are living tissues that grow cyclically. Once the normal hair follicle has been implanted into the balding area, the grafted hair will stay in place for about two to three weeks before shedding – this is normal and an important part of the new growth process. After shedding, the new growth will begin in 3 to 4 months and your hair will continue to grow normally. More importantly, your results will look healthy and natural.
Will I Continue to Lose My Hair?
Hair loss does not stop after transplantation – some people will need continued maintenance such as HairMedica®, PRP injections, vitamin supplementation, medication, hormone maintenance, etc. Depending on your age and degree of hair loss, additional sessions will likely be required. Progressive hair loss or the desire for more density may require more transplants. An estimate of balding pattern and the number of procedures needed will be discussed during the consultation with your surgeon.
How Much Does NeoGraft® Cost?
Prices for the NeoGraft® procedure are typically based on the number of hair grafts necessary. To get a NeoGraft® price quote for your specific situation, please request a consultation.
Does NeoGaraft® Work for Both Men and Women?
